    • Great Website Betsy. If my house wasn't full of Leo's I would definetly want one of those adorable puppies. I loved meeting your large male. Forgot his name.

    • Thanks Betsy. Been an all girls club here for a long time. I had forgotten the boys bubba stage. I remember flipping one of them on his back and putting my knee into his chest. He decided I must have misunderstood what he meant........

    • Wrote you privately, but also wanted to post here.....Cash is at max testoreone right now as a 2 1/2 yr old. This is the time that some of the boys try on the BigBoy pants to see if they can run the house. I think that nutering him will help take a bit of the starch out of him...or at least the hormonal push to beat his chest and stand up. I'd also go back to some of his obedience lessons, just to remind him that YOU have the opposable thumbs and run the canopener! Its actually good news that he signals so clearly, it gives you time to ask him to give you another behavior like Sit or Down...kind of derails him and kicks his brain (as opposed to his balls!) in gear. See if you can think of anything in common with all the folks he objects too....is he trying to protect the baby once he thinks he has backup? or is he just being a adolescent with attitude towards someone he thinks he can intimidate?

    • E-mail me at hounded@hotmail.com I found a link for you to look at.

    • Question.... Are people standing over him when he does it? Mine will launch themselves at people if someone is standing over them and bending in their direction. When Abby and Rose were in puppy kindergarted, two separate facilities, we were told that it was not aggressive so much as a predictable response. Not having seen specifically what happened, I would tend to doubt that it is aggressive behavior. Something you might want to try to correct or minimize the opportunity, but I would doubt aggression. I remember 20 years ago at a dog show seeing a dog that I had found to be a pleasant boy, but the story had gotten around that he had become aggressive. I said hello when I saw him. Really up and happy hello. He launched himself towards me and went nose to nose with me. Wanted to smell my breath. Just saying hi. Owner about had a heart attack. Not aggressive. Will be interested in Betsy's take on this as she has more experience than I, but my take is that this is not aggression.

    • We have experienced some aggressive episodes from Cash over the past 2 years that have been so infrequent and confusing when they occur that I wanted to see if similar events have happened with anyone else. Sometimes when strangers get real close to him, especially standing over his face, he lounges for the person's face. He doesn't appear to be trying to bite but more of a "quick thrust" to the head with his snout - almost like a dolphin. I can always tell when he's about to do it because he get real still and gets this look then "bam.!" i pull him back or catch him but then he usually lets loose a growl. Tonight he had a perfectly normal 3 hours with a new babysitter for our son but got rigid the minute we returned then lunged at the sitter! I managed to pull him back before he made contact and then he started growling. I should mention he's not been neutered. Any insights?

    • I just now realized that if you click on the names in the pedigrees you get to see pictures of the dogs! I am having such a good time! Thank you Betsy!!!!

    • Stretch says Happy Birthday to his veggie siblings! 2 years old - whoopee!

    • Is that what turned Abby into such a lunatic?

    • Wouldn't you be fat and content if you only had to share your mother with 1 other sibling (in contrast to Sunny's last litter, the 13 Veggies)?!?!
