Wychway Bloodhounds
Welcome

Welcome to Wychway Bloodhounds. Our bloodhounds are bred for structure, soundness, health, temperament and working ability. They have been certified clear of hip and elbow dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or the University or Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) and checked for cardiac issues by Board certified cardiologists in order to receive their CHIC or Champion of Health awards. We breed on a very limited basis and guarantee the health of all our dogs. We are members of the American Bloodhound Club (www.bloodhounds.org) and the Canadian Bloodhound club (www.canadianbloodhoundclub.com) and adhere to both club's Code of Ethics.

The puppies we have produced have gone on to some shining careers in law enforcement, conformation showing and even obedience. We have produced Champions in both the US and Canada, and Champions of Health for 3 generations. Our foundation bitch is not only in both the American Bloodhound Club Brood Bitch Hall of Fame and the American Bloodhound Club's Working Dog Hall of Fame, she has also produced dogs and bitches who are in the same Halls.

Our dogs compete in conformation and trailing, but they also love rally, obedience, and therapy work. We have attended breed functions all over the United States and Canada and have found that bloodhound people are a lot like their dogs; friendly, nosey and always glad to share a meal! If you ever meet us at a show, come on by for lunch!

LATEST NEWS!

Look for an article on Baggins in the Dec, 2011 issue of Dog World....page 32!

Congratulations to Ella for getting her ManTrailing Intermediate title at the Prairelands trial! Despite the PeeWee football game and the small pink person screaming "DOGGY!!" she worked a great trail and did a dynamite ID on her runner...completely ignoring the cross runner! Also congratulations to Miss Truffle for a great MT run, even though it was the looooooooooooooooong way around the pond!! She was able to prove her scent discrimination skills and tagged her runner with no hesitation. Good job ladies!!!

Ella is TRIPLE Entered in Eukanuba!! The only bloodhound entry who is ALSO qualified for the Working Dog Hall of Fame!! We are SO going to Florida!!

Congratulations to Jeeves for his new American Bloodhound Club Man Trailing title!! Also to Cousin Martha and John Kuncho for her MT title! They were the only ones out of a field of 12 dogs to achieve the goal of finding their runner in less than an hour, so we are really really proud of them!!

A big Whoo Hoo to Ella and Renee Wagner for 2 legs in Rally Advanced at Newcastle! And another one for a Beginner Novice leg in Pittsburgh with scores in the 190s!! Renee says Ella "Heels better than the Corgis" LOL Go girl!

Cheers for Abby's major win in W Springfield!! You go Team Abby!!

WOW!! Ella and Renee not only are double entered in Eukanuba, but they are also in the Top 20 for the ABC 2011 Nationals. Ella's teh only dog in the Top 20 with both Obedience and Trailing titles. Am so very proud!!!

Sad news. Baggins died on Monday, July 25th, of complications from a ruptured disk in his back. Passing was swift, but it will be a long time before we fill the hole in our hearts. VBIS Am/Can CH Bilboa Baggins RE, Am/Can MTI SDHOF, WDHOF will be missed.

Congratulations to Ella and Renee on qualifying scores in Rally Advanced (First Place on Sunday! With 3 herding dogs in 2-4!! Whoooohooo!!) and in Beginner Novice for two new titles!! And anothe Select, which makes her a Grand Champion! That TRIPLE qualifies her for Eukanuba!! and finishes her qualifications for the Working Dog Hall of Fame! We are so proud!!!
