Welcome to Wychway Bloodhounds. Our bloodhounds are bred for structure, soundness, health, temperament and working ability. They have been certified clear of hip and elbow dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or the University or Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) and checked for cardiac issues by Board certified cardiologists in order to receive their CHIC or Champion of Health awards. We breed on a very limited basis and guarantee the health of all our dogs. We are members of the American Bloodhound Club (www.bloodhounds.org) and the Canadian Bloodhound club (www.canadianbloodhoundclub.com) and adhere to both club's Code of Ethics.

The puppies we have produced have gone on to some shining careers in law enforcement, conformation showing and even obedience. We have produced Champions in both the US and Canada, and Champions of Health for 3 generations. Our foundation bitch is not only in both the American Bloodhound Club Brood Bitch Hall of Fame and the American Bloodhound Club's Working Dog Hall of Fame, she has also produced dogs and bitches who are in the same Halls. 

Our dogs compete in conformation and trailing, but they also love rally, obedience, and therapy work. We have attended breed functions all over the United States and Canada and have found that bloodhound people are a lot like their dogs; friendly, nosey and always glad to share a meal! If you ever meet us at a show, come on by for lunch!

Whoo Hoo Paisley!! She took her mom to the show and got 2 three point majors over the weekend! Go Molly & Paisley!! To continue the clean sweep...her buddy Price with Daddy Michael, took BOB both days. Way to go!!

Go Stretch!! After skipping 2 weeks of puppy class due to memorial Day and Mom's heavy work schedule, he went in and ACED the whole sit, stay, heel, look-absolutely-adorable-while-being-brilliant part of class. What can I say...Brains as well as beauty!!

Congratulations to Christopher Clancy (Ch Wychway's Dawggone Terriffic, CGC) who took a Group 1 in CA last weekend!! Good Boy!!!

Newcastle PA was a great time....Baggins took BOB on Saturday from the Veterans class (20 dogs to go!) and his kids did equally well....5 WB/BOWs for Ella with 3 points and 5 WD's for Jeeves! Jeeves is still learning that inertia is NOT his friend LOL and that you have to T U R N at the corners....awkward when you only have minimal connect to your feet!! :-) Got a call from Mass too and Congratulations go out to Abby (Wychway's Sweet Potato) for 2 more points from the 6-9 class! All in all...good weekend!! If any of you readers come to the Stockton shows this month...stop by and say Hi! We're in a 8 am all weekend (urgh!)

Whoo Hoo Baggins!! 2 More BOBs and a group 3 at Alexander, NY this weekend! We're on the countdown to the HoF....25 dogs to go!!

Congratulations to Christopher Clancy!! Ch Wychway's Dawggone Terriffic went first Award of Merit at the California specialty and followed it up with a BOB on the following day and a GROUP ONE!!!! Way to go!!!

A huge welcome to some new members of the Wychway extended family!! Jeff and Sara, from York, PA, are the new parents of Stretch (Red collar boy). Stretch has happily settled in and is now best buddies with their Weimaraner, Phantom. Nim has also changed addresses and call names. She is now "Paisley" and is happily bossing the boys at M&M Bloodhounds in South Carolina with Molly and Michael Nye, preparing to knock 'em dead in the Southern shows. And Bones is living in luxury with Jeff and Connie in Butler PA and preparing for a new career in S&R as well as conformation showing. The house is a lot more empty,  but our hearts are full!

Best of Luck to Miss Truffle!! She is off to Camp Cline in Elizabeth PA, to spend a few months learning to get her brave face on, and get out to some small summer shows! We look forward to seeing her in Newcastle in a few weeks!!

Congratulations to MaryBeth Cline and Rose on two legs on your CD!!! And on Sunday at Pittsburgh, PA, Rose not only got a 184 1/2 & 4th place in Novice A, she ALSO got a New Championship!!! (photos will be up on the family page by tomorrow!) Way to go Rosie!!!!! Best of luck in two weeks in Harrisburg for that new title!!!!

That weekend in Pittsburgh was good to us....Baggins took BOB both days and went GROUP ONE on Saturday!! Sunday he got a Group four...not bad for a boy that will turn 8 in May!!! Since he was owner handled, I can pat myself on the back too LOL but boy am I sore!! Pictures will be up on his page as soon as we get them!
