Wychway Bloodhounds
Welcome

Welcome to Wychway Bloodhounds. Our bloodhounds are bred for structure, soundness, health, temperament and working ability. They have been certified clear of hip and elbow dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or the University or Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) and checked for cardiac issues by Board certified cardiologists in order to receive their CHIC or Champion of Health awards. We breed on a very limited basis and guarantee the health of all our dogs. We are members of the American Bloodhound Club (www.bloodhounds.org) and the Canadian Bloodhound club (www.canadianbloodhoundclub.com) and adhere to both club's Code of Ethics.

The puppies we have produced have gone on to some shining careers in law enforcement, conformation showing and even obedience. We have produced Champions in both the US and Canada, and Champions of Health for 3 generations. Our foundation bitch is not only in both the American Bloodhound Club Brood Bitch Hall of Fame and the American Bloodhound Club's Working Dog Hall of Fame, she has also produced dogs and bitches who are in the same Halls.

Our dogs compete in conformation and trailing, but they also love rally, obedience, and therapy work. We have attended breed functions all over the United States and Canada and have found that bloodhound people are a lot like their dogs; friendly, nosey and always glad to share a meal! If you ever meet us at a show, come on by for lunch!

LATEST NEWS!

Latest news....Truffles pups are getting bigger and prettier by the day! They are all placed, and one of them will be coming home from PA, along with Truffle. This litter is os pretty that we are considering repeating it next spring. If you are interested in one of those puppies, let me know. Odd are good that she will have at least a few more full coat blacks again. This litter seems to have produced 4 out of 6 full coats, with the other two being rich black and tans. Sunshine's ultrasound shows only one puppy, due August 12th, so we are looking at next spring for Sunshine puppies as well. Hopefully 2011 will be as good year for Wychway as the last two have been!!!!

THE PUPPIES ARE HERE!!! See the Upcoming litters page for details!!

Obviously I need to change to a blog format...cause this isnt' working ....so changes will come next week to the whole site...updated photos and new pages. Come and see!

OK...I have been REALLY bad about updating, so here's most of the news in one big fwoomp. Congratulations to Armondo (CH Wychway's Armondo Ashante TDI) for his AWARD OF MERIT at the 2010 Eastern Specialty! He also won Best Veteran Male in Sweepstakes and looked absolutely magnificant! Especially considering that he is alomst 9 years old! Congratulations also go to Ella and Renee winning <deep breath> Grand Sweeps Puppy on BOTH Friday AND Saturdays specialties PLUS Winners Bitch on Fridays Supported Entry show for 4 points! Sunshine didnt' do anything in the regular classes at the specialty, but she and Ell won Best Brace, so we are very proud. 2 weeks later Ella won WB in Syracuse for another 2 pts...so we need one more major and she's finished! Jeeves was also at Syracuse (he stayed home for the specialty) and got another point on Sunday. Sister Lette (Wychway's Lettuce Entertain U, owned by Meg Nolan) won RWB on both Friday and Sat at Syracuse...nice weekend for us!!

Also at Syracuse, Jeeves and Ella passed their EECT tests and are now eligible for their Mantrailing trials....I just have to find one we can get to and make it through the draw!!  Thanks to Judge Roxanne Chandler for taking the time to test us on an unseasonably hot day!!

Lola (Ch Wychway's Needs no Alderation, RN, MT) has the best kids ever....they have completed enough titles to put her in the ABC Brood Bitch Hall of Fame! When Truffle gets that last leg on her Rally Novice title, every puppy will have at least one title. A HUGE thank you to Beth Mares and Cosmo (HIT Wychway's Heir of the Dawgg, CDX, RE) for getting well over half of those merit points needed!! Cosmo got his CDX in 5 trials...which is a MAJOR accomplishment for a dog of any breed! For a bloodhound to do it that quickly indicates a spectacular team!!

Cash is celebrating a new house...his owners are moving to the country! Plus he is getting a new addition to his family....Best wishes for a happy pregnancy for Jill and a healthy baby! LOL We'll post photos in "Extended Family" if you send 'em!!

And, speaking of new family....PUPPIES are coming!! (we hope!!) Truffle has been bred to a handsome Black and Tan boy named Winston Details on bot her her page and in upcoming litters. Sunshine may also be expecting last this summer...stay tuned!

Abby is enjoying a new puppy in her house too...Congratulations to the Kunchos on Baby Rose! We look forward to seeing her in the ring someday!

Did I miss anyone?? If I did, poke me and I'll post it! I promise not to let this go so long anymore!!
